Pius Tawiah, born in Sampa, Ghana, passed away unexpectedly on October 18, 2024, in his home in Lodi, NJ. He was 40 years old. Pius spent his life in service to others, from his six years of honorable service in the U.S. military to his academic pursuits in health and wellness.
A graduate of the University of Botswana and Essex County College, Pius later studied at Baylor Physical Therapy and Robbins College of Health and Human Sciences. He was passionate about fitness and made lasting connections through his love of socializing, traveling, and working out. His vibrant personality left an impact on all who knew him.
Pius is survived by his eight siblings, most of whom live in Ghana and Botswana, where his body is to be transported for burial. His brother Sylvester, with the help of a fundraiser organized by Shalanda Tudor, is raising funds to cover the costs of returning Pius to Ghana and to support the funeral expenses. This effort is a reflection of the love and respect Pius’s community holds for him, and his memory will be celebrated by many.
We offer our heartfelt condolences to Pius’s family and friends. May his spirit continue to inspire those who knew him, and may his family find peace during this difficult time.
