Peyton Rebone—It is with deep sorrow that the Muskegon community mourns the passing of Peyton Rebone, who tragically passed away on Saturday, September 21, 2024. Peyton was only 24 years old and his sudden death has left family, friends, and community members heartbroken.
Peyton’s life was tragically cut short following an accident on Thursday, September 19, 2024. While driving to work, Peyton stopped to address a concern with his vehicle. The truck dislodged and collapsed on him, causing severe internal injuries. Despite the efforts to save him, Peyton did not survive. In a final act of selflessness, Peyton’s parents, Bob Rebone and Leigh White, honored his wish to be an organ donor, allowing him to give the gift of life to many others.
A fundraiser, organized by Pollie Gilchrist, has been set up to support the Rebone family with medical and funeral expenses during this difficult time. As of today, $125 has been raised toward the $9,800 goal. The generosity of those contributing, including Charley Vlietstra and Tiffany Falen, has been a source of comfort to Peyton’s family.
Many community members have shared their condolences on social media. Pollie Gilchrist posted, "It has been a very, very tough few days for the Rebone Family. Please keep Bob, Leigh, Taylor, and Jaxson in your prayers." Others, like Susan Baerwalde Homolka, wrote, "Most certainly praying for this devastated family following the tragic and untimely death of beloved son and brother Peyton." These heartfelt messages are a testament to the love and admiration Peyton inspired.
We offer our deepest condolences to the Rebone family during this unimaginable loss. Our thoughts and prayers are with them in this difficult time. May Peyton’s memory be a blessing and his legacy of kindness and generosity bring comfort to those who knew and loved him.
