Patti J. Rohe, Montoursville, PA— Patti J. Rohe, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and educator, passed away on October 7, 2024, at the age of 81. Patti, who had dedicated over 27 years of her life to teaching, is remembered fondly by her family, former students, and community members.
Patti was born on May 10, 1943, in Jersey Shore, PA, to the late LaRue and Betty Brown. She was a proud 1961 graduate of Jersey Shore High School and went on to earn her teaching degree from Lock Haven State College in 1964. In 1964, she married George G. Rohe, and the couple recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary.
Having retired in 1998 from the Jersey Shore Area School District, Patti’s impact on generations of students is still felt. Known for her dedication and commitment to her students, she leaves behind a legacy of educational excellence. She was also an active member of the First United Methodist Church in Jersey Shore and the Beta Sigma Phi sorority.
Patti is survived by her husband George, their daughter Kelly A. Rohe, sister Judy McClain, two grandchildren, Paige Larsen and Riley Morrison, and one great-granddaughter, Aida Larsen. She was preceded in death by her brother, Jon Brown.
In the wake of her passing, a fundraising campaign has been established to help provide a headstone in honor of her memory. The fundraiser, organized by Tim Martin, has raised $1,045, with contributions from local community members such as Derek Powers, Devon Feaster, and Kelly Alleman.
Patti’s passing has left a deep void in the hearts of all who knew her, and her family requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to assist with the costs of a headstone. There will be no public services, but a private final interment will take place at Jersey Shore Cemetery.
We are deeply saddened by the loss of Patti J. Rohe, and our thoughts and prayers go out to her family and loved ones during this difficult time.
