Pamela R Thornton, Laurel, VA— Pamela R Thornton passed away recently, leaving her family and community in deep grief. Known affectionately as “Scrappy” for her small stature and mighty spirit, Pamela was beloved for her resilience and warm presence. Despite facing numerous health challenges throughout her life, she remained a source of strength and positivity for those around her.
Pamela was not only a wife, sister, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, but also a guiding figure to countless young people through her involvement in various sports. She coached children, drove buses with a smile, and spread kindness wherever she went—whether through crafting, sharing kind words, or simply wishing people well.
A fundraiser has been set up by Melissa Sharon to help with Pamela’s burial and memorial services. The community has already shown its support with donations, including contributions from Lacie McKean and an anonymous donor.
On Facebook, people are sharing their heartfelt condolences. Bruce Birch wrote, "I don’t really like doing this stuff but if anyone can help out please. Trying to figure out arrangements."
Pamela’s passing is a tremendous loss to her loved ones, but her spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew her.
We extend our deepest sympathies to the Thornton family during this incredibly difficult time. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all.
