Born on September 29, 1955, in Chicago, Illinois, Peanuts graduated from Gage Park High School and dedicated nearly 26 years of her life as a Letter Carrier with the U.S. Postal Service. Known for her vivacious personality and love for disco dancing in her younger years, Peanuts was a beloved figure in her community.
In her later years, Peanuts was deeply involved in fostering cats and caring for her family. Her strong personality and compassionate nature left a lasting impact on those around her. Survivors include her children Wanika Lopez and Marcelino Lopez, both of Valparaiso; sisters Monica Solis and Marcella Rucker; and her grandchildren Yalina, Leland, and Noah. She was preceded in death by her fiancé Billy Herman, her brother Harry Lopez, and her parents Marcelino and Signa Lopez.
A fundraiser has been set up by Yalina Lopez to cover the costs of Peanuts’ cremation and to bring her home. The goal is $1,500, with donations already coming in from supportive friends and family. Notable contributions and messages of support have been received from Cristal Cisneros, who shared her thoughts and prayers, and Kirsten Warner, who expressed her condolences and support through a donation.
