Ms. Rebecca, Martinsburg, WV—Ms. Rebecca has passed away, leaving the Martinsburg community grieving a profound loss. She was a cherished mother, wife, and dedicated caregiver at Kid’s World, where she worked since 2016, touching the lives of many children.
Ms. Rebecca was first diagnosed with ovarian cancer in April 2021. Despite undergoing surgery and chemotherapy, she showed incredible resilience and was able to return to Kid’s World later that year. Her determination and strength were qualities that shone through in all aspects of her life, especially as she supported her son Christian and daughter Amadeah, advocating for their needs and encouraging their growth.
Rebecca’s journey wasn’t easy, yet she continued to rise above the challenges. Her fight took another turn in July 2024 when she became ill again, and it was found that the cancer had returned and progressed to stage 4. Despite enduring radiation and chemotherapy, the illness overtook her. In her final moments, she expressed peace and comfort, reassuring loved ones that she would watch over them and the children she cared for at Kid’s World.
A fundraiser organized by Dawn M. Voysey has been set up to support her family during this difficult time, with contributions going toward her memorial expenses. Ms. Rebecca’s dedication to Kid’s World and her love for the community have left an indelible mark that will be cherished.
We extend our heartfelt condolences to Ms. Rebecca’s family and friends. May her memory bring comfort, and our thoughts and prayers are with you during this time.
