Mrs. Barbara Ann Prichard, Gainesville, GA— Mrs. Barbara Ann Prichard passed away on November 29, 2024, at New Horizon’s Limestone, following a brief illness. She was 78 years old.
Born on February 28, 1946, in Peoria, IL, Barbara was a remarkable woman known for her dedication to her community, family, and passions. She earned an associate’s degree in general education from IL Central College and pursued a nursing education before her battle with Multiple Sclerosis. Despite this challenge, she continued to be an active volunteer, working at the Heart House Women’s Shelter in Eureka, IL, and was a proud member of the MS Society – IL Chapter.
Barbara’s love for photography, music, and animals was evident throughout her life. She taught herself to play the guitar, wrote music, and created the Kawiliwig Kennel, home to two champion Basset Hounds. In addition to her artistic pursuits, she worked as an Audio/Visual director at Eureka College, where she played a key role in cataloging and preserving Reagan-era artifacts at the school.
Barbara was a devoted member of New Haven Congregational Holiness Church, where she cherished her church family. She is remembered fondly by her children Fred and Erin Schirer, Keith and Michelle Greeson, John and Mariza Egli, Cathy Simmons, Stephanie Jarrett, as well as a number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and extended family.
Sadly, due to her ongoing health issues, Barbara passed away without life insurance or assets to cover her final expenses. Her family is currently seeking donations to help cover the costs of her funeral. A fundraiser has been set up by her daughter, Stephanie Jarrett, to support these needs. The community has come together to show support, and donations are being accepted through GoFundMe.
Our thoughts and prayers are with Barbara’s family during this difficult time.
