Fort Myers Beach, FL — Michael Todd Yost, affectionately known as Mike Wyzard, Magic Mike, and Ghost Host, passed away suddenly on September 19, 2024. His passing has left the Fort Myers Beach community, his hometown of Hebron, IN, and friends from around the world in deep grief. Michael was known for his infectious love for storytelling, magic, and sports. Those closest to him remember him as someone who considered a good day to be one where he made a new friend.
A fundraiser titled "Honoring Mike Yost’s Legacy of Friendship," organized by Robert Alyea and others, is currently active to help support his mother, Imo Yost, and loved ones during this challenging time. A portion of the funds raised will also be donated to the Fort Myers Beach Historical Society in honor of Michael’s life and contributions to the community. As of now, $1,095 has been raised out of the $15,000 goal through donations from friends, family, and community members. Donations continue to come in, with contributors like Kim Wolfert, Clair Knapp, and Michael Brown making generous contributions.
A celebration of Michael’s life is planned for Sunday, September 22, 2024, at the DiamondHead Resort on Fort Myers Beach, starting at 5 p.m. The event will follow the route of his beloved Haunted Pub Tour, concluding at the Lighthouse Tiki. The community is invited to come together to honor his memory and reflect on the laughter and joy he brought to so many.
Michael’s passing has deeply impacted those who knew him, but his legacy of friendship and love will continue to live on through the memories he left behind. We extend our deepest condolences to his mother, Imo Yost, and all his loved ones.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the Yost family and all those grieving during this difficult time.
