Michael Pamonicutt III, also known as “Kāēqc Anahkwat,” passed away on September 28, 2024, leaving behind a deeply grieving community. At just 30 years old, Michael was a cherished father, son, brother, and a respected member of the Menominee Nation. His sudden passing has left an irreplaceable void in the lives of those who knew him.
Michael was a graduate of the College of Menominee Nation and the BIA Indian Police Academy, where he honed his skills and dedication to serving his people. As a proud member of the Menominee Indian Tribal Police Force, he worked tirelessly to protect and advocate for his community. His passion for his heritage extended beyond his work—he was a skilled grass dancer and a fierce advocate for preserving the Menominee culture.
Beyond his role in the community, Michael was a devoted father to his two sons, Marcus and DaLin, with a third child on the way. Those who knew him best remember his kind and giving nature, hidden behind a tough exterior. Whether cooking for loved ones or offering a helping hand, Michael’s presence brought warmth and love to those around him.
A memorial fundraiser has been set up by Jay Young to assist his family in covering the costs of his services and to support his girlfriend, Jessica Pamonicutt, and their children. The goal is to raise $20,000, with early donations already coming in, including a contribution from Tiffany George.
Traditional services will be held at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, with visitation starting on Tuesday, October 1, at 4:00 p.m. and continuing until Thursday. The Pamonicutt family expresses deep gratitude for the outpouring of support during this incredibly painful time.
Our thoughts and prayers are with Michael’s family, friends, and community as they navigate this tremendous loss. May his memory live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
