Diagnosed in 2022, Michael had initially responded well to treatment and achieved remission, allowing him to resume his work in the landscaping business and household cleaning alongside his wife. For a time, it seemed like life had returned to normal.
However, his condition took a turn for the worse in July 2024 when back pain revealed the reactivation of the cancer. Although he was hopeful for a stem cell transplant, his health prevented it, leading to a decision to undergo car T cell treatment. Unfortunately, complications from an infection and the progression of the disease brought the family devastating news that he would likely not survive.
Surrounded by his loved ones, Michael has spent his final days in the hospital with his pain under control, receiving comfort care. His family describes him as the hardest worker and greatest man they know, and they are heartbroken by his impending passing. Despite their grief, his family is determined to give him the proper farewell he deserves.
