Michael Earl Martin, Lake of the Ozarks— Michael Earl Martin, 62, passed away on December 21, 2024. Born on March 15, 1962, in St. Louis, Missouri, he was the son of Otis Martin and Kay Hulla. Michael, known affectionately as "Mikey" by many, lived a life full of kindness, generosity, and passion for the things that mattered most to him, including his family, friends, and the community at large.
A resident of Lake of the Ozarks since 1973, Michael’s life was deeply intertwined with the area. He was an enthusiastic lover of the water, with Ha Ha Tonka State Park holding a special place in his heart. Michael graduated from Camdenton High School and spent over 40 years working in the restaurant industry, notably at Chevy’s, Alley Cats, and most recently at the Porto Cima Clubhouse. He was known for his culinary creativity, with his signature dish being a unique twist on Bananas Foster French toast.
In addition to his culinary work, Michael was a passionate DJ, having shared his love of music with many through his work at a local radio station and his own DJ business. He had a natural ability to connect with others and made friends wherever he went. His generous nature, loyalty, and thoughtful gestures left a lasting impact on all who knew him.
Michael is survived by his devoted life partner, Michelle Miller, his mother-in-law, Nancy Miller, his sisters, Suzy Haas (Troy) and Renee Martin, his best friend of nearly 50 years, Tim Jacobsen, his nephews, Camron and Jordan Haas, and numerous friends and pets. He was preceded in death by his parents, his "father-in-law" Ken Miller, and his brother, David Martin.
A visitation is scheduled for Friday, January 3rd, at 10 AM at Saint Anthony’s Catholic Church in Camdenton, MO, with the funeral service to follow at 11 AM. His family has set up a fundraiser to help with expenses during this difficult time.
