His commitment to helping others extended beyond his professional life. Michael was well-known for his passion to "fix things" and his willingness to assist anyone in need. Whether it was through his work on a Native American Reservation in New Mexico or within the prison system, his legacy is one of tireless service and selflessness.
In the Tallahassee community, Michael was celebrated for his powerful voice. He often sang at local churches, funerals, and community events, including those dedicated to people experiencing homelessness. His voice was a familiar presence at the American Legion’s gospel sings, Mission BBQ, and even at a Florida State University softball game where he sang the National Anthem.
He is survived by his loving wife, Tanya Gavin, his son Michael, and daughters Erin and Michelle. Michael’s passing has left his family in financial uncertainty.
