Meloni Simpson, Waycross, GA—The community is heartbroken by the unexpected passing of Meloni Simpson on September 30th. Meloni, a kind and compassionate soul, was known for her selflessness and the light she brought to those around her. Her love for others and her ability to lift people up was a remarkable gift, one that impacted many in her community.
A dedicated employee at Terrace Gardens, Meloni spent countless hours caring for residents, always going above and beyond her job’s duties. She was also a strong supporter of local businesses, constantly finding ways to promote them and drive traffic to their locations. Her loving and generous spirit even inspired a local coffee shop to give out small Jesus figurines, a gesture Meloni had first initiated.
Meloni’s death comes at a time of double hardship for her family, as they also grapple with the devastation brought by Hurricane Helene. Although her passing was not related to the hurricane, the emotional and financial toll of these two tragedies within such a short time has been overwhelming for her loved ones.
Meloni leaves behind her husband, Archie, and their two sons, Archie II and Wesley. The family is now facing the difficult task of laying Meloni to rest while simultaneously dealing with the aftermath of the storm. Sadly, Meloni did not have life insurance, and her family is struggling to cover funeral expenses.
A fundraiser has been organized by Alison Rylee to help ease the financial burden on the Simpson family during this incredibly difficult time. As of now, kind donations have already been made by friends and family, including Jay & Gloria Rylee, Joshua & Brooke Rylee, and Kristina Foreman.
Meloni’s memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. Her light, kindness, and generosity will continue to inspire those she touched.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to Meloni’s family. May they find comfort and strength during this challenging time.
