Melissa Marlene DeOliveira, Bonney Lake, WA—With deep sadness, the DeOliveira family and their community are grieving the sudden passing of Melissa Marlene DeOliveira. Melissa left this world in the early morning hours of Tuesday, October 15th, at her home in Bonney Lake, surrounded by familiar comfort.
Born on November 6, 1969, in Seattle, WA, Melissa spent her entire life in the Puget Sound area, a region that shaped much of her life’s joy. From her early years, she found delight in horses and camping, and over the years, her love expanded to classic cars, racetracks, and time spent on the sand dunes and water. Melissa’s love for family, both those related by blood and the many she welcomed into her circle, was at the heart of everything she did. Her door was always open, and her table never met a stranger.
Melissa’s passing leaves behind her husband, Sergio; her children, Saj (Darcie-Rae) and Christian (Nicole); her grandchildren, Matthew, Baby Serg the 3rd, Rylan, and Brodey; her brother Wayne, and her sister Annie, along with countless other family members and friends. Her parents and her brother Mark had preceded her in passing.
In honor of Melissa’s life, a GoFundMe page has been set up to help the family with expenses during this time. A celebration of her life will be announced soon.
Many heartfelt messages have been shared on social media in remembrance of Melissa. Saj DeOliveira expressed his grief, asking for thoughts and prayers for his family. Others, like Kandis Petersen, shared their condolences, writing, “Sorry for your loss guys. Thoughts and prayers are with you all,” while Jody Williams Dobson reflected, “Your Mom was an incredible lady with a heart of gold. She will be missed by many.” Robin Hamel McBride added, “Your mom was an amazing lady and so much fun! What a beautiful write-up about her. Love to you and your family.”
Our hearts are heavy as we extend our thoughts and prayers to the DeOliveira family during this difficult time. Melissa’s warmth and kindness touched so many lives, and her memory will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
