Matthew Menne, Swanville, MN— The community mourns the loss of Matthew Menne, who tragically passed away on September 7, 2024, following a car accident. Matthew, who was born on January 17, 1985, left behind a legacy of love, friendship, and devotion to his children and community.
A beloved father, Matthew had three children with his former partner Hailey: Remedy (10), Harmony (8), and Ezekiel (6). He was also a father figure to Hailey’s other children, Lyrik and Thunder, and shared a close bond with her youngest, Waylon. Matthew was known for his kind spirit, always creating fun memories for the children, whether through backyard adventures or simple moments of joy playing video games and building Legos together.
Matthew’s dedication extended beyond his family. He served his country with the Minnesota National Guard’s 34th Red Bull Infantry Division, including a 21-month deployment in Iraq during Operation Iraqi Freedom. After his honorable discharge in 2011, he spent seven years managing a turkey farm for Jenny-O, a job he deeply enjoyed.
Following his passing, Hailey and family friend Jayne Quigley organized a fundraiser to support the children Matthew loved so dearly. Although Matthew had life insurance, there is a delay before benefits will arrive, so the fundraiser aims to help with the immediate needs of the children, household expenses, and a small memorial service in Swanville, MN.
The family is grateful for the outpouring of love and support from the community. Any donation, no matter the size, will go a long way in providing for the children’s care and ensuring that Matthew’s memory is honored.
Our hearts and prayers go out to Matthew Menne’s family during this painful time. May he rest in peace, and may his children find comfort in the many happy memories they shared with him.
