Maria Del Rosario Amavizca Lagarda, known affectionately as Chayo, passed away earlier today, leaving her family and friends in deep sorrow. Born on May 24, 1952, in Ciudad Obregón, Sonora, Mexico, Chayo was a beloved mother who always held a deep connection to her hometown.
Her son, Adalberto (Adal), was making plans with her to return to their home in Ciudad Obregón soon. It was Chayo’s heartfelt wish to be laid to rest there, alongside her late son, Javier Lagarda. The family is now committed to honoring her final wish by bringing her body back to Mexico for burial.
However, the cost of fulfilling this wish is substantial. To help cover the expenses, Carlos Marquez has organized a fundraiser titled "Bring Chayo Home to Rest in Peace." The fundraiser, created today, has so far raised $325 out of the $20,000 goal through the kind donations of Jeannete Estrada and Carlos Marquez.
The Lagarda family is reaching out to friends, family, and the community for support. They kindly ask for donations and for everyone to share the fundraiser to help them achieve Chayo’s final wish.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the Lagarda family during this challenging time.
