Mama Carol—Known lovingly as “Mama” to many, Mama Carol has recently passed away, leaving a void in the hearts of her loved ones and the community she touched. A fundraiser has been organized by her daughter, Morgan Elaine, to honor Mama Carol’s memory and provide her with the final journey she deserves.
Mama Carol spent her final years at Napa Valley Care Center, receiving in-patient care for frontotemporal dementia. Despite the immense challenges of the last eight years, her spirit remained unchanged. Known for her fiery personality and fierce love, Mama Carol was a woman who welcomed everyone into her life, often referring to herself as “Mama” to all those she encountered. She even bought a minivan to transport the many wayward souls she gathered along the way, offering them love, guidance, and a safe space.
Standing just 5’1", Mama Carol was full of energy, always dancing, loving music, and enjoying life to the fullest. She was a passionate advocate, fighting for disability laws that would ensure better services for people with Autism, inspired by her dedication to her son, Matthew. Her contributions to these efforts have had a lasting impact on many lives.
Morgan describes her mother as a firecracker with a big heart, someone who could lift others up, no matter the circumstances. Though Mama Carol is no longer here, her legacy of love, strength, and community lives on in the people she touched.
The fundraiser has seen contributions from community members, with notable donations from Andra North ($20), Natalie Rappuhn ($200), and Lori Teachout ($100). These funds will assist with covering the funeral costs and the accumulated medical expenses from the years of in-patient care.
We extend our deepest condolences to Morgan, Matthew, and the entire community grieving Mama Carol’s loss. Our thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time.
