Mallick Quraan, Indiana— Mallick Quraan, a 40-year-old son, brother, and friend, passed away on September 25, 2024, at LA General Hospital. After battling MRSA for several years, including severe complications following multiple surgeries, his death has left his family devastated.
Mallick’s health challenges began six years ago when he contracted MRSA, which led to numerous surgeries, including the removal of his spleen, part of his pancreas, kidney, and colon. Despite the ongoing fight against the infection, Mallick’s condition deteriorated, culminating in an emergency surgery on September 20, 2024. Though he showed signs of recovery, he tragically passed away unexpectedly just days after the procedure.
His mother, Gloria Quraan, is now working tirelessly to bring Mallick back to Indiana for his final resting place. Gloria has organized a fundraiser to cover the significant costs of transporting Mallick’s body from California and arranging funeral services in Ellettsville, IN. As of now, she has raised part of the needed amount, with only $800 left to cover transportation expenses. The total costs, including funeral arrangements, amount to over $5,000.
The Quraan family has expressed deep gratitude for the support from friends and strangers alike, with donations pouring in through the GoFundMe campaign. Gloria remains hopeful that she will be able to fulfill her son’s final wish and bring him home.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the Quraan family during this incredibly difficult time.
