Leslie Schmidt, Shreveport, LA— Leslie Schmidt passed away peacefully on December 24, 2024, at the age of 85. He was a cherished father, grandfather, and friend, remembered for his unwavering dedication to his family and community. Leslie was born on August 3, 1939, and spent much of his life in service to others, first as a member of the United States Air Force, and later through his successful firewood and lawn service business.
Leslie’s death leaves behind his son, David Schmidt; his stepson, Mike Gayler; granddaughter, Tia Mauldin; and grandson, Carlos Pandiella. He was also preceded in death by his beloved wife, Wendy, with whom he shared many treasured memories.
In honor of his memory, a memorial service will be held on January 11, 2025, at Aulds Funeral Home in Shreveport, Louisiana, where family and friends will gather to celebrate his life.
David Schmidt, Leslie’s son, has organized a fundraiser in his father’s honor to ensure his legacy continues. The memorial tribute aims to raise $2,400, and donations are currently being accepted.
