Leo Lee Cerda Calvin, Dickinson, ND— The community is heartbroken by the sudden passing of Leo Lee Cerda Calvin, who tragically passed away on Tuesday, December 24, 2024. Leo, only 21 years old, was found unresponsive in his apartment after his family was unable to reach him the day before. It is believed that he suffered a grand mal seizure, which led to his untimely death.
Leo had recently moved back to North Dakota to be closer to his family. He had just secured his first apartment and started a new job as a Correctional Officer. His life was beginning to take shape, with so many promising milestones ahead of him. His parents, Katie and Danny Cerda, are devastated by the loss of their son, while his younger sisters, Marielle and Sayla, struggle to comprehend the absence of their beloved "Babo."
A fundraiser has been set up by Lynda Woods-Gongora to help with funeral and memorial costs for the family. As of now, $350 has been raised from six generous donations, with contributions from Amanda Uhrig, Lisa Donnot, Julia Shiryaev, Rebecca Shuster, and Kristin Rude.
The family has expressed their deep gratitude for the thoughts, prayers, and support from friends, family, and the community during this heartbreaking time.
We are deeply saddened by the passing of Leo Lee Cerda Calvin. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Cerda family as they navigate this incredibly difficult time.
