Corbett, OR—Kraig Bubna, a longtime resident of Corbett, passed away unexpectedly on October 10th. His death has left his family, friends, and the entire community in deep sorrow. Kraig is survived by his wife, Leila, and their five children: Jeremy, Justin, Hannah, Caleb, and Karson.
Kraig was well-known in the local community, and his family has expressed their gratitude for the outpouring of support they’ve received during this difficult time. A fundraiser, organized by Jeremy Cummings of Identity Sports, has been set up to assist the family. Donations have already started to come in, with contributors like Erica Carey, Kristen Kirkland, Susan Gillespie, and Erica Espinoza MD offering financial help.
Kraig’s brother, Kurt W. Bubna, shared an emotional post on Facebook, reflecting on their bond: “Losing a brother is like losing a part of yourself. The bond between brothers is unique, developed through shared experiences, laughter, and even strong disagreements. With the passing of my brother, Kraig, it’s left a void that words can hardly describe.” He recalled fond memories of their international travels and the love and support Kraig always offered.
Katherine P. Bubna also expressed her feelings on Facebook, writing, “Love my brother—the first thing he ever said to me was ‘Hey Sis!’ and I was always his sister after that. He treated me like a part of the family—accepted me with no question. Love and miss you, bro.”
The family has planned an open house to honor Kraig’s memory on Saturday, October 19th, from 10 AM to 2 PM at 32640 SE Hurlburt Road. In line with Kraig’s wishes, there will be no formal service. The family has also shared parking details for those attending, asking visitors to refrain from using local business lots.
