Kenny Mckown, Norfolk, NE— Kenny Mckown passed away on December 4th, 2024, leaving a deep void in the hearts of his family and friends. He was a proud U.S. Army veteran who served overseas in Germany for two and a half years before transitioning to a career as an over-the-road trucker for more than 30 years.
Despite suffering a major heart attack and a stroke that halted his trucking career, Kenny remained resilient and optimistic, focusing on enjoying his time with loved ones. For the past 15 years, he continued to embrace life with a positive outlook.
His passing has left his family struggling to cover the costs of his cremation and remaining medical expenses, as the Veterans Affairs office is unable to assist with these final arrangements. A GoFundMe campaign, initiated by his sister Pamela Mckown, has been set up to help with these costs. The campaign has already raised $800, thanks to donations from Preston Frahm and Luann Hamilton.
On social media, friends and family have expressed their condolences and remembered Kenny fondly. Emily Gipson shared a heartfelt message: "Rest in peace great uncle Kenny, hope you’re going to concerts with Grandma again in the sky."
We extend our thoughts and prayers to Kenny’s family during this difficult time. May his memory live on through the stories of his bravery and the love he shared with those around him.
