Katy’s sudden death, following her courageous battle against an aggressive form of breast cancer, has left her family and the Orangeville community devastated. Her passing came after a stroke, just as she had triumphed over her cancer in the previous year and a half.
Katy was a passionate teacher, an avid reader, and a lover of sunrises. She was known for her fierce loyalty to her friends and her constant support of her family and community. Whether it was cheering on her children’s sports teams or lending a helping hand at school events, Katy was always there for others.
Her family, including her husband David, who is currently recovering from a workplace accident, and their children, Nolan and Lucy, are left to cope with the overwhelming loss. In response to this tragic event, a fundraiser has been organized by The Renwicks to support the Bartle family in their time of grief. As of today, over $500 CAD has been raised, thanks to generous contributions from community members like Carley Smith, Robert Lee, and Danielle Alexander.
Susan Lakatos-Brant, a close friend of the family, shared on Facebook, "Three days before Christmas, this precious (and dear to me) family tragically and suddenly lost their beautiful Momma and wife, Katy. If you knew her, you loved her dearly." The support from the community continues to pour in, with many offering heartfelt condolences and sharing stories of Katy’s kindness and generosity.
