Kaila Marie Villalobos, a cherished member of the Laguna Hills community, passed away on Saturday, October 19, 2024, at the age of 29. Kaila was born with Cornelia de Lange Syndrome, a condition she bravely navigated throughout her life. Despite the challenges she faced, her spirit and courage left a lasting impression on those who knew her.
Earlier this month, Kaila was admitted to Sherman Oaks Hospital for what was initially believed to be respiratory distress. However, it was later discovered that she had suffered a cardiac arrest. She was subsequently transferred to Keck Medicine USC Hospital, but despite the efforts of her doctors and the love of her family, Kaila passed away.
Her family, including her mother Kelly Satoshige, is now left grappling with both emotional and financial burdens. To ease some of the pressure, family friend Sharon Sapp has organized a fundraiser to help cover the costs of Kaila’s memorial service and Celebration of Life. The community is invited to contribute to the GoFundMe campaign, with all donations going toward alleviating the family’s expenses.
Kaila’s passing has left a deep void in the hearts of those who loved her, but her memory will live on in the lives she touched. The Villalobos and Satoshige families extend their heartfelt thanks to all who have offered support during this difficult time.
We extend our deepest sympathies to Kaila’s family and friends. May she rest in peace, and may her family find comfort in the cherished memories they hold.
