Julio Paredes—Julio J Paredes tragically passed away while vacationing in Mexico, leaving behind a heartbroken family and community. According to his friend Liliana Sánchez, who shared a GoFundMe campaign for his family, Julio was intentionally run over and, despite all efforts, succumbed to his injuries. Julio leaves behind his wife and five children, who are now facing immense emotional and financial challenges.
Julio’s life was a testament to hard work and dedication. Arriving in California at a young age, he worked various jobs while learning English and tax preparation. His skills led him to establish his own tax business. Not stopping there, Julio pursued higher education in his late 30s, earning an associate degree from TCC, a bachelor’s degree from UTA, and eventually graduating from UNT College of Law. As a lawyer, he made significant contributions to his community by helping people with their documents and immigration status.
Julio’s death has left a void not only in his family but also in the community that he so selflessly served. His family is currently unable to fulfill his wish of being cremated due to Mexican laws requiring his body to be buried until the investigation is concluded. Once the case is resolved, Julio will be cremated and brought back to Texas to be with his family.
In lieu of flowers, a college fund has been established for Julio’s youngest children, Leonardo (11) and Samantha (9). Julio valued education deeply and inspired many, including his niece, to pursue their studies. This fund is intended to honor Julio’s memory and support the future of his children.
Liliana Sánchez, in her Facebook post, urged everyone to contribute to the GoFundMe campaign to support Julio’s family during this difficult time. The fundraiser, organized by Danira Meza, aims to raise $20,000 to help with the family’s expenses.
