Judy Woodmancy, Pasadena, CA— Judy Woodmancy passed away on Saturday, November 16, 2024, after a prolonged battle with Alzheimer’s Disease. She was surrounded by her loving husband, Bill, and her sister Sherry during her final moments. Judy was deeply loved by her family and the community, having touched many lives throughout her career as a dedicated educator and lifelong friend.
Born in Philadelphia, PA, Judy grew up in Arlington, VA, and Oxnard, CA. She became a devoted elementary school teacher in the Los Angeles school district, where she spent 30 years teaching 3rd grade and special needs children. Judy had a passion for science and literature, which she imparted to her students, and she became a beloved figure among her colleagues, forming lifelong friendships throughout her career.
Judy’s bond with her husband Bill was one of deep love and companionship. They married on June 9, 1990, and together shared many years of happiness, often spending their time hiking in the local mountains and Sierras with friends and family, and caring for their beloved cats. Her love for nature and her family will always be remembered.
In honor of Judy’s memory, her family is raising funds to support Alzheimer’s research through a fundraiser organized by Bill Woodmancy. The proceeds will benefit Alzheimer’s Los Angeles, an organization close to Judy’s heart.
Our thoughts and prayers are with Bill Woodmancy, Sherry, and the entire family during this difficult time.
We extend our deepest condolences to Judy’s family and hope her legacy as an inspiring teacher and loving wife lives on through the support for Alzheimer’s research.
