Josiah Willems, Midland, ON — The community is mourning the sudden loss of Josiah Willems, who passed away on Sunday, July 21st, at the age of 32. Josiah was a devoted father to his beloved children, Alexander (4) and Sophia (3), who were the light of his life.
Josiah was known for his kind and gentle nature, often referred to as a "gentle giant." His infectious laugh and smile could brighten anyone’s day. He was always willing to lend a hand and was someone you could count on in times of need. Josiah’s dream was to provide his children with a bright future, filled with opportunities and happiness.
Tragically, Josiah’s life was cut short just as he was taking significant steps to improve his and his children’s future. He was enrolled to start an electrician program at Georgian College this September. His determination to better himself and provide for Alexander and Sophia was truly inspiring.
Alexander, diagnosed with autism, flourished under Josiah’s unwavering support. Josiah’s dedication to his son’s growth and well-being was remarkable and made a profound difference in Alexander’s life.
In the wake of this profound loss, a fundraiser has been organized by Sarah Moll on behalf of Kathi Helt to support Josiah’s children. So far, $1,085 has been raised out of the $30,000 goal, with contributions from generous donors like Scott Hughes, Kevin Colhoun & Cathy Hughes, Don & Cheryl Hebner, John Turner, and Ashley A.
The community is coming together to ensure that Josiah’s dreams for his children can still come true. Your generous donations will help cover the immediate costs associated with Josiah’s passing and support Alexander and Sophia as they face the future without their father.
