Jonathan Crain, a beloved member of the Chiang Mai, Thailand community, has sadly passed away. On Monday evening, October 7, Jonathan left this world after a tragic single-vehicle accident, and his loss has deeply impacted those who knew and loved him. Born in Longwood, Florida on February 22, 2007, Jonathan moved to Chiang Mai in 2016 and attended Grace International School, where he was known for his faith, leadership, and love for others.
Jonathan’s love for Jesus was central to his life, and he consistently shared his passion for Christ through his actions, friendships, and dedication. As a son, brother, student, and athlete, he touched the lives of many, leaving behind a lasting impact.
In remembrance of Jonathan, Grace International School has announced two upcoming events. An open house visitation will be held on Saturday, October 12, from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Mowad Residence in World Club Land, providing the community with an opportunity to gather with Jonathan’s family and share their memories. A Celebration of Life service is also scheduled for Sunday, October 13, from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Grace International School’s cafeteria. The service will be live-streamed for those unable to attend in person.
A fundraiser organized by Sherrie Foltz has been set up to assist the Crain family in covering expenses for services in both Thailand and Florida. Donations have already begun pouring in, with Kagan Fulford contributing $50, Kevin Morse donating $200, and Chrissy Williams giving $100 in honor of Jonathan.
Community members have expressed their love and support through heartfelt messages on social media. The Grace International School community, in particular, shared a touching statement, inviting everyone to remember Jonathan together and support the Crain/Foltz family during this time.
