John Russell Curran, a beloved member of the Whitney, TX community, passed away recently, leaving behind a legacy of love, resilience, and cherished memories. Known affectionately as J.R., he fought a long and courageous battle against cancer, defying expectations and living beyond the years doctors predicted. Sadly, on August 24th, J.R. lost his battle and passed away, leaving his family and friends in deep sorrow.
J.R. was a devoted father to his 16-year-old son, Tanner Curran, whom he adored and cherished. His passing has left a significant void in the lives of his family, including his seven siblings, 11 nieces and nephews, and many others who loved him dearly. He was not only a loving father and brother but also a loyal friend and an irreplaceable part of the lives of those who knew him.
To support J.R.’s family during this difficult time, a fundraiser organized by Britta Friend has been set up with a goal of $15,000. The funds will help cover the expenses associated with J.R.’s passing and provide for his son Tanner’s future. As of now, $125 has been raised through the generous contributions of four donors: Jessica Claridy, Michael & Christie Dominguez, Lora Johnson, and Jessica Turner.
J.R.’s family and friends take comfort in knowing that he is now free from the pain he endured for so many years. His memory will live on through the stories and laughter shared by those who loved him. The community is encouraged to continue showing their support by donating and sharing the fundraiser.
We are deeply saddened by the loss of John Russell Curran. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends during this challenging time.
