John Eakes, Centerville, OH— John Eakes passed away unexpectedly on June 8, 2024, leaving his family and community in profound grief. John was a devoted husband, father of three, and grandfather of two, sharing 37 beautiful years of marriage with his wife, Tracey.
John was not only a loving family man but also a passionate landscape photographer. His death has left an irreplaceable void in the lives of his loved ones. To honor his memory and passion, his family is organizing a memorial bench to be placed at the entrance of Kennard’s Nature Nook in Grant Park, a 222-acre natural area in Centerville, OH, that served as a perfect backdrop for John’s photographic works.
The bench will feature a memorial plaque and a QR code linking to a collection of John’s incredible photos, allowing visitors to appreciate his artistic legacy. The cost of the bench and its installation, along with the website hosting for John’s photography collection, is $3,500. To support this effort, Valerie Van Winkle, on behalf of Tracey Eakes, has organized a fundraiser. As of now, $300 has been raised from three generous donors: Bradley Cherry, Teresa Hall, and Valerie Van Winkle.
The community is invited to visit John’s bench in Grant Park to remember him and enjoy the natural beauty he captured so well. This bench will stand as a testament to John’s love for his family and his artistic vision, providing a place for reflection and remembrance.
We are deeply saddened to learn of John Eakes’s passing. Our thoughts and prayers are with Tracey, Zach, Cody, Alexis, and their entire family during this difficult time.
