John Bender Jr., affectionately known as JB, passed away on July 31 at the age of 68. JB was not only a celebrated tattoo artist but also a devoted family man with a deep passion for baseball, antique cars, and above all, his loved ones. His step-son, Ryan Williams-Jent, who regarded JB as a father figure, shared touching memories of JB’s influence on his life, emphasizing the invaluable life lessons he imparted.
JB’s loss has left a significant void, particularly for his beloved wife, Sama, who considered him her perfect partner and protector. As Sama navigates this difficult time, Ryan has organized a fundraiser titled "Honoring JB and Supporting Sama" to assist with the memorial service costs and support Sama in her next steps. The memorial service is scheduled for August 23 at 6 p.m. at Evans Funeral Home.
The community has shown tremendous support, with $1,070 raised so far out of the $2,500 goal. Contributions have come from generous individuals like Richard Todd, who donated $250, and the Blunt Family, who contributed $200. The outpouring of love and support from friends and family reflects the impact JB had on those around him.
We are deeply saddened by the passing of John Bender Jr. Our thoughts and prayers are with Sama, Ryan, and the entire family during this challenging time.
