Joe Thomas Sanford, age 83, of Britton, MI, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 19, 2024, at home, surrounded by his loving family. Joe was born on September 5, 1941, in Martwick, Kentucky, to Gerald and Mary (Dawe) Sanford. He was a devoted husband to Judy Beaton, whom he married on March 26, 1966. Judy preceded him in death in 2019, leaving behind a cherished memory of their life together.
Joe’s life was one of service, both to his family and his country. He was a member of the United States Army and an active participant in his local church, Britton Bethel Baptist Church. His passing leaves a significant void in the hearts of his children: Joe Sanford Jr. (Annette), Kellie Thiede (Geoffrey), and Amanda Strand (Terry). His legacy continues through his grandchildren: Danielle, Katelyn, Brandon, Amber, Zach, Morgan, Taylor, and Austin; as well as his great-grandchildren: Hailey, Benjamin, Hannah, William, Amelia, Olivia, Brady, and another expected soon.
