Joe Ferguson, Springfield, MO — The community is mourning the loss of Joe Ferguson, who passed away recently at Mercy Hospital following a short illness. Joe was 75 years old and had dedicated 16 years of his life to serving at Victory Mission, particularly working the overnight shift at the Front Desk of the Shelter.
Joe Ferguson was a beloved member of the Victory Mission team, known for his unwavering dedication and service. His commitment to ensuring the safety and well-being of the shelter’s residents was deeply appreciated by both his colleagues and those he served. He retired earlier this year in the early spring.
Joe’s passing has deeply affected his surviving sister, Virginia, who is now grieving the loss of her brother. To assist with final expenses, a fundraiser has been organized by Michael Nelson. So far, $160 has been raised out of the $1,500 goal, with contributions from generous donors including Matt and Anita Ruff, Adam Bodendieck, and Tabitha Barajas.
Torrey Bozman, Shelter Manager, who was both Joe’s supervisor and friend, along with her sister, initiated the GoFundMe to support Joe’s family during this challenging time. The community is encouraged to rally around and offer their support, just as Joe had helped so many throughout his years of service.
