Jody Love, Athens, OH— Jody Love passed away unexpectedly on August 17th, 2024, leaving his family and community heartbroken. Jody, a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, was cherished for his kindness, dedication to his family, and passion for life.
Jody served his country with distinction for 26 years in the United States Navy, retiring as a Senior Chief in 2010. After his retirement, he found joy in spending time on his farm in Athens, cheering for the Ohio State Buckeyes, and enjoying the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. His love for his family and friends was evident in the way he was always ready to lend a helping hand whenever needed.
Deminique Gotreaux, Jody’s child, has organized a fundraiser to assist with the costs of bringing Jody back to Athens, where he was laid to rest at Clarks Chapel beside his brothers and father. The fundraiser has already received support, with donations coming in to help alleviate the financial burden on Jody’s wife during this difficult time.
Jody’s passing has left a significant void in the lives of his family and friends, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Our thoughts and prayers are with Jody Love’s family as they navigate this heartbreaking loss.
