Jodi Lee Ruggiero, 36, unexpectedly passed away on Sunday, July 28th, 2024, leaving the community of Grant Park, IL in deep sorrow. Jodi was a loving wife, devoted mother, cherished daughter, sister, aunt, cousin, niece, and friend. Her sudden departure has left a significant void in the lives of her loved ones.
Jodi is survived by her husband, Nelson McCoy, and her children Joshua Ruggiero, Kaylee Hazzard-Ruggiero, Piper, Jeremiah, and Nelson McCoy. She also leaves behind her mother, Sue Wackerlin; father, John Ruggiero (Sandy); step-father, Ralph Wackerlin; and mother-in-law, Mary McCoy.
In memory of Jodi, a visitation will be held at Fedde-Helfrich-Cross Funeral Home on Sunday, August 4th from 1:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M. A Memorial Service will follow at 5:00 P.M., officiated by Rev. Kyle Timmons. In lieu of flowers, the family has set up a GoFundMe account to support the education of Jodi’s children.
The fundraiser, organized by Kenneth Small, aims to raise $10,000. "The offers to help have been such a bright light in what has been one of the darkest weeks our family has been through," shared Ashley Ruggiero on Facebook. The community’s support is deeply appreciated during this difficult time.
