Jimmy Johnson, Pittsburgh, PA—The community is mourning the sudden loss of Jimmy Johnson, who passed away on August 7th, 2024, after battling severe health complications. Jimmy’s unexpected passing has left his wife, Elsie Johnson, devastated and in need of support.
Jimmy’s health took a drastic turn when he was initially treated at their local hospital. However, due to the severity of his condition, he was transferred to Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh. Sadly, Jimmy’s health continued to decline, and he was diagnosed with multiple organ failure, a significant mass on his right lung, and a severe internal bleed. Despite the efforts of the specialist team, his condition worsened, and it was determined that he would not survive surgery.
Elsie was by his side throughout this painful journey, but now faces the overwhelming burden of funeral expenses and other financial challenges, especially since Jimmy did not have life insurance. In response, Elsie’s sister, April Swanik, has organized a GoFundMe fundraiser to help cover the costs of Jimmy’s cremation and other necessary expenses during this difficult time.
The fundraiser aims to raise $4,500, but as of now, no donations have been received. April is also accepting contributions directly at Berrett Funeral Home in Northern Cambria, PA, where the community can come together to support Elsie as she navigates this heartbreaking period.
Our thoughts and prayers are with Elsie, her family, and all those who knew and loved Jimmy. May they find comfort and strength in the memories they shared with him.
