Jim Lyons, Marlin, TX— Jim Lyons passed away peacefully on November 23, 2024, surrounded by his family. Known by many as a community hero, Jim’s legacy will live on through the countless lives he touched during his years of service.
Jim was a beloved figure in Marlin, having dedicated much of his life to public service and community involvement. He was known for his work with Marlin High School, the U.S. Navy, Lyons Pest Control, Falls County Sheriff’s Department, and the Marlin Jaycees, to name just a few. His commitment to helping others extended to the Texas Ambulance Association, where he served as President, as well as his involvement with Duck’s Unlimited and the Marlin Bass Club. His passion for helping others was most evident in his role with the Falls County Emergency Service, where he assisted many in Central Texas during their times of need.
Despite his busy life, Jim remained a peaceful and humble soul. His passing has left a profound void in the hearts of his family, friends, and community. To help cover his funeral expenses and to lay him to rest next to his mother, Jackie Lyons Greger, a GoFundMe campaign has been set up.
The fundraiser, organized by his sister Jan Johnson and his brother Paul Lyons, is working toward a goal of $10,500 to support the family in their time of grief.
Jim Lyons will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His legacy of service and kindness will continue to inspire those who knew him.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the Lyons family during this difficult time.
