Jessie Leona Archuleta, born on April 30, 1967, in Denver, Colorado, passed away peacefully on August 31, 2024, in Colorado Springs, Colorado. A beloved mother, grandmother, and devoted friend to many, Jessie touched the lives of everyone she met. She will be deeply missed by her family and the community she served throughout her life.
Jessie, who was a cosmetologist by trade, dedicated her career to owning and operating Jasmine Hair Style in Alamosa. Her salon wasn’t just a place of business; it was a reflection of her generous heart. Through her thoughtful nature, Jessie made everyone who entered feel welcomed and cared for. She was deeply committed to helping others, giving her time and love freely to those in need.
Aside from her professional life, Jessie was passionate about nature, enjoying fishing, camping, and dancing. She cherished time spent with her family and friends and found peace in the companionship of her dogs, Peppers, Cocoa, and Noodle.
A fundraiser has been organized by her sister, Tracy Vargas, to help cover Jessie’s funeral expenses. Due to prolonged medical issues, Jessie was unable to fully support these costs herself, leaving her family in need of assistance to ensure a beautiful and memorable service. Tracy is seeking help from the community, asking for any donation that will help honor Jessie’s life in a way that reflects her love and kindness.
Jessie is survived by her mother, Mary JoAnn (Ricardo) Valdez; her daughter, Raychel Lucero; her grandchildren, Dominic, Camron, Ceasar, Carson, and Camrie; her sister, Tracy Jane (Michael) Vargas; her brother, Dan (Ernestine) Archuleta; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Leona Lucero, her father, Jose Frank Archuleta, and her grandparents.
A viewing will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, September 6, 2024, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 AM at the First Christian Church in Alamosa, CO. Jessie’s memory will live on in the hearts of her loved ones and the many lives she touched.
