Born on July 19, 1998, in Crossville, TN, Jesse was the cherished son of Gina and Thaddeus Filoteo. His childhood was marked by a passion for the outdoors, nurtured through his involvement in Scouts. Jesse’s artistic journey began in middle school and high school, where his talents flourished under the mentorship of his teachers. He excelled in various forms of art, including traditional illustration, sculpture, bookbinding, music, and creative writing.
Jesse’s impactful poem, “Do it for Mom,” written during his senior year of high school, highlighted the urgent need for climate change action and garnered significant attention. He graduated magna cum laude from Tennessee Tech University in 2021 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Graphic Design and a minor in English. After working as a graphic designer for two and a half years, Jesse decided to reconnect with nature, joining the Appalachian Conservation Corps to pursue his love for the outdoors.
