Jeff Williams, Logan Central, QLD— Jeff Williams passed away on September 18, 2024, after battling oral cancer for several years. His passing has deeply affected the community, as his wife, Annie, is now facing both emotional and financial struggles. Annie, who moved to Australia after marrying Jeff, has been his primary carer while also working as a casual support worker. Unfortunately, Annie was diagnosed with stage 1 synchronous ovarian and uterine cancer in June 2024, further complicating their lives.
Jeff’s passing has left Annie in a difficult financial situation, as she struggles to arrange a funeral for her husband. A fundraiser organized by Honeylette Hammond has been set up to assist with the funeral costs. The fundraiser has raised $260 AUD out of the $3,000 AUD goal, with donations coming from kind-hearted individuals like Clara Malig and John Lentejas.
Friends and acquaintances have taken to social media to express their condolences and support for Jeff and his family. Patricia Hadder Scott wrote on Facebook, “A great woman left this world… Mrs Phyllis Williams will be missed more than most. Prayers, hugs, and lots of love going out to Phyllis Ann, Jeff Williams, and Susan." Other heartfelt messages poured in, with Diana Willis offering "many prayers," while Patsy Holcombe Stevenson shared, "What a sweet lady!! Prayers to her family."
Barbara Pettit, Gloria Armstrong Ipock, and Connor Hawkins were among many others who extended their prayers, thoughts, and condolences to the family during this difficult time.
The community continues to show its support, and the love and care Jeff Williams brought into the lives of those around him will be remembered.
We send our deepest condolences to the Williams family and pray for strength and comfort during this difficult time.
