James Dwyer Jr, San Angelo, TX—James Dwyer Jr passed away recently due to a senseless hit-and-run incident, leaving his family and community in deep mourning. James, a Navy veteran, was known for his dedication, kindness, and the strong bonds he maintained with his friends and family.
Elizabeth Lyons Sewall shared the devastating news on Facebook, stating, "Our son Martin Sewall lost his dearest friend James Dwyer to a senseless hit and run Sunday. Martin and James met during high school. The news and media all say he was homeless. I’M CORRECTING THAT HERE AND NOW. HE MOST DEFINITELY WAS NOT. He served in the Navy after he left high school and still stayed in touch with Martin. In fact, Martin had just moved in with James a week ago to help him."
James’ stepmother, Sharon Malish, has set up a fundraiser to assist with funeral expenses, explaining, "Hello, my name is Sharon. My beloved stepson James Dwyer Jr was a victim to a senseless hit-and-run tragedy that has taken him from us forever. He has always been a loving son, and his father and I are heartbroken. James Jr. was in good health, and we were completely unprepared for his passing. His father and I are on a fixed income and struggling with his final expenses. Any help and all prayers will be greatly appreciated. Thank you all, and God Bless!"
As of today, the fundraiser has raised $120 out of its $3,500 goal, with donations from Tina Robbins ($25), Sonja Timms ($25), Samantha Williams ($20), and Carrie Stewart ($50).
Friends and community members have expressed their condolences and support. Doreen Hammond commented, "So sad for your son and the friend he has lost."
James’ passing has left a significant void in the lives of those who knew him. The love and memories he shared with his friends and family will forever remain in their hearts.
We are deeply saddened to learn of James Dwyer Jr’s passing. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family during this difficult time.
