James Cabanlit, Philippines—James Cabanlit passed away recently in a devastatingly tragic accident, leaving his family and friends in deep mourning. James was known for his kind-hearted and loving nature, often referred to as the "golden child" by those who knew him.

James had aspirations of becoming a pilot, but due to financial constraints, he pursued a course in aircraft mechanics, always keeping his dream alive. His father, Tito Jhun, worked abroad as a construction contract worker to provide for the family, similar to what his grandfather did for James’ mother and uncles to ensure a brighter future and education.

Tragically, just a week before Tito Jhun was to return to the Philippines to be reunited with his family, James lost his life. This unforeseen event has deeply affected the family, especially as they were anticipating Tito Jhun’s homecoming after his long stint abroad.

Sophia Cabanlit Cortes, James’ cousin, has organized a fundraiser to cover the costs of the funeral and memorial service in the Philippines. The goal is to raise £5,000, and so far, £20 has been contributed by generous donors Joseph F and an anonymous supporter.
