Itzia Favela, Chicago, IL—Itzia Favela is currently in critical condition after experiencing a devastating hemorrhagic stroke on August 4th, 2024. Her family, particularly her sister Karina Favela, is deeply affected by this heartbreaking turn of events.
Four years ago, on the same date, August 4th, 2020, Itzia suffered her first stroke, which left her with limited mobility on the left side of her body. Through her resilience and extensive physical therapy, she made a remarkable recovery, regaining much of her lost mobility. However, this recent stroke has left her unconscious, and the path forward is filled with uncertainty and the need for significant medical care and therapy.
In light of this, Karina Favela has organized a fundraiser to help cover the substantial costs of Itzia’s ongoing treatment and future recovery efforts. As of now, $2,990 has been raised out of a $10,000 goal, thanks to the generosity of 18 donors. Notable contributions include a $1,000 donation from Eugen Szilagyi, the largest so far, and $20 from Fabiola Juarez Nieto, the most recent donation.
