Ian ‘Spud’ Miller, New South Wales— Ian ‘Spud’ Miller, a retired police sergeant, passed away on December 18, 2024, leaving the community in deep sorrow. Born on February 19, 1959, Ian dedicated 46 years of his life to serving the people of New South Wales, beginning his career in the NSW Police Force at the young age of 19.
Ian’s dedication to his profession was unmatched, only taking two sick days during his entire tenure with the force. Known for his courage, compassion, and unwavering commitment, he retired on May 17, 2024, after a distinguished career. Ian had been looking forward to spending more time with his family, but tragically, his life was cut short just months after his retirement.
He is remembered fondly by his wife, Susan Miller, and his sons, Scott and Mitchell Miller. Ian was also a beloved grandfather to Sarah and Cameron Miller. His passing has left a void in the hearts of his family, colleagues, and the community he served.
A fundraiser has been established by his family and friends to assist with the funeral and wake costs. The funeral will take place at the Macquarie Park Crematorium, North Ryde, NSW, on January 3, 2025, at 2 pm.
We extend our deepest condolences to the Miller family during this incredibly difficult time.
Our thoughts and prayers are with Ian and his family as they navigate this heartbreaking loss.
