Hope’s passing occurred at 2:25 pm, and her son was notified by the Chaplain at 4:00 pm. Paul shared heartfelt memories of his last moments with his mother, expressing love and prayers for her as she battled pancreatic cancer. He also reflected on her resilience, noting that she had survived a previous struggle, nearly losing her life to suicide in the hospital last year.

Paul, as the oldest son, has been the primary caregiver, supporting his mother through her illness and managing her household on his own. His dedication was evident as he cleaned her home, encouraged her to keep fighting, and honored her wishes to be buried, not cremated. The family had already faced the loss of Hope’s brother in May 2019, and this second tragedy has added to their grief.

In an effort to honor her legacy and fulfill her final wishes, Paul Jaime Jr. has started a fundraiser titled "Support Hope’s Legacy with Compassion and Care."
