Hector Martinez, Covina, CA— Hector Martinez passed away on November 23, 2024, leaving a deep void in the hearts of his family and friends. Hector, a devoted husband and father of three children, was known for his selflessness, always putting others before himself. He spent much of his life helping those in need without hesitation, earning the love and admiration of everyone who knew him.
Hector was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in 2021 after a CT scan revealed a mass the size of a lemon in his pancreas. Remarkably, the mass had been growing since 2018 without spreading. Despite the severity of the diagnosis, Hector faced his illness with incredible resilience, undergoing intense chemotherapy and a successful operation. Sadly, the cancer returned in late 2023. True to his determined nature, Hector continued working as much as he could, only taking brief breaks to recover after his chemotherapy sessions.
His passing came peacefully on November 23, 2024, surrounded by his loved ones and after receiving the rosary. Hector’s family, including his wife and three children, are left with a tremendous loss, but they take solace in the fact that his legacy of love and generosity will live on forever.
A fundraiser has been set up by his brother Oscar Martinez to help cover funeral expenses. The family expresses their deepest gratitude to all those who have donated or shared their cause, and to everyone who stood by Hector during his battle. His spirit will continue to inspire all who were fortunate to know him.
We are deeply saddened by Hector Martinez’s passing. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family during this difficult time.
