Gary spent much of his life working tirelessly in Scarborough, Ontario, as an HVAC ductwork professional, a career that spanned over five decades. After his retirement, Gary relocated to Parry Sound to be closer to his daughter Connie, with whom he shared many cherished memories. Known for his love of fishing and his moments sitting on the front lawn with his best friend Joey, Gary became a beloved figure in his community. His infectious smile and welcoming personality earned him the title of the "neighbourhood Popa," with local children fondly knowing who he was.
In his final weeks, Gary was surrounded by the love of his family, reminiscing about life’s joys and sharing laughter, especially while listening to George Jones. Despite the challenges of his stage 4 cirrhosis of the liver diagnosis, Gary remained resilient and full of love for those around him.
A GoFundMe campaign organized by his daughter, Connie Gauthier, has been set up to cover funeral expenses, cremation, and final debts.
