Floyd Piper Jr., Bishop, CA Community Remembers Beloved "Bub"

Floyd Piper Jr., affectionately known as "Bub," passed away recently, leaving his family, friends, and community in mourning. He was 51 years old. Floyd’s sudden passing, attributed to complications from an end-stage diagnosis he had received six months prior, has deeply impacted his loved ones.

Floyd was a man of faith, strength, and humor. His ability to make people laugh and his unwavering support for his family and community will be remembered fondly by all who knew him. He was an integral part of his family and was highly involved in the lives of the youth in his community, particularly through coaching and playing sports.

An active member of the Bishop Paiute Tribe, Floyd enjoyed staying in shape through weightlifting and playing the drums. His love for life and his spiritual beliefs made him a beloved figure in the lives of those around him.

His daughter, Justice Piper, has set up a fundraiser to assist with the growing funeral expenses, despite receiving support from the tribe. The fundraiser has raised $550 so far, with contributions from generous donors like Anonymous, Mike Godbe, MaryAnn DeLaRiva, and Teresa Veesart.
