Eric Ocampo, Daly City, CA—The community is grieving the loss of Eric Ocampo, who passed away on Wednesday, August 28th, at 10 a.m. Eric was only 46 years old when he succumbed to complications following a severe stroke that occurred earlier this month. His passing has left a significant void in the lives of those who knew and loved him.
Eric, known for his independence and deep philosophical nature, was the primary caregiver for his mother, Mercy Ocampo, with whom he shared a close and inseparable bond. He was also the primary caregiver for his late father, Eustace Ocampo, until Eustace’s passing in December 2017. Eric’s family and friends fondly remember his warmth, understanding, and intellectual depth, which he generously shared with those around him.
After suffering a stroke on August 11th, Eric was hospitalized at Kaiser Permanente in Redwood City. Despite the best efforts of neurologists and neurosurgeons, it was determined that Eric’s condition would not allow for a meaningful recovery, leading to the heartbreaking decision by his family to withdraw life-sustaining treatment. Eric passed away peacefully surrounded by love and care from his family during his final days.
In light of this sudden and tragic loss, Eric’s niece, Angelina Ariana Aviles, has organized a fundraiser to help cover the expenses of his memorial services and cremation. The goal is to raise $5,000, and Angelina is appealing to the community for support during this difficult time.
Eric’s family finds comfort in the belief that he is now free from pain and reunited with his father and other loved ones who have passed before him. They are immensely grateful for the outpouring of love, prayers, and support from friends and family during this trying period.
We extend our deepest sympathies to the Ocampo family. May Eric rest in peace, and may his family find strength in the cherished memories they shared with him.
