Eric Hart, originally from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, passed away on the evening of September 8th, 2024, following a difficult journey filled with numerous health challenges. After suffering a severe brain injury in a car accident on September 19th, 2019, Eric faced many surgeries and was left paraplegic. Despite these obstacles, he fought hard and made remarkable progress, demonstrating high-functioning abilities.
However, his situation worsened after a tragic incident at a San Antonio rehabilitation center, where a staff member accidentally dropped an electric device on his head, causing further brain trauma. This led to multiple emergency surgeries, and Eric’s condition deteriorated over time. While recovering, his family reported allegations of abuse by hospital staff, including claims of physical harm.
On September 8th, Eric’s heart stopped, and he was pronounced dead at 9:21 PM. His mother, Shorice Hart, was contacted shortly thereafter, arriving at the hospital only to receive the devastating news.
In an effort to honor Eric’s memory, Shorice has organized a fundraiser to help bring him back to Milwaukee, where their family and friends reside, so that he can be laid to rest in his hometown. The fundraiser aims to raise $10,000, with the hope that supporters will help cover the costs for a proper funeral service. So far, no donations have been made, but Shorice remains hopeful for the community’s support in this difficult time.
We extend our deepest condolences to the Hart family. May Eric Hart rest in peace, and may the family find comfort and strength during this heartbreaking period. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all.
